The Shelby AC Cobras of the 1960's are arguably one of the greatest cars, built by an American...Ever! Bold statement? Perhaps. But if you are a "Car" person, and even have a limited knowledge of racing and high performance history as it relates to American ingenuity, perseverance, and an "over the top" desire to do nothing but go faster than everybody else, then you certainly understand what it means when you hear, Shelby Cobra! The fastest production street car ever built throughout the 1960's and carried that title through the 70's and partially into the 80's before Porsche finally built something to keep up. The AC Cobra will forever be known as the Holy Grail of classic car admiration, and for the very fortunate few...Ownership. Perhaps this is the number one reason the Cobra Kit replica, or tribute car has become a very viable, realistic means to own something that pays homage to Mr. Shelby and his rich automotive legacy. Now, if you we're going to have a Cobra replica, wouldn't you want as many of the traits on your replica as you could get that mirrored the original AC Cobra? For instance; It doesn't get any better than an authentic 427 side oiler engine, a strong top loader 4 speed, and a bullet proof Ford 9" differential.

Add to this, Smith's gauges, AC pedals, the Mustang shifter mounted backward, the single roll bar, racing seat belts, Halibrand type wheels, and of course, those side pipes! Man, what a great feeling to drive a car so strong, open, great sounding, easy to shift and easy to handle. This particular car has just 4,848 miles on the build, and the engine has but maybe 250-300 miles on it since its professional rebuild. This Cobra actually drives very well with its independent front suspension, 4 wheel disc brakes with Hotchkis traction suspension in the rear. What a well built fun car! By the way, the base/coat, clear/coat Chameleon paint on this Cobra looks amazing, and adds yet another dimension to its uniqueness. The seats are comfortable enough for long drives, and if you actually want to hear music aside from the throaty side pipes, well, there's a stereo too. If you've ever had the desire for a Cobra, and who hasn't, you really need have a look at this one. Sure there are other Cobra replicas out there, you know, with 302's, 351's, 390's, small and big block Chevy's, etc. Make no mistake, all fun cars, all look good going down the road. However, when the time comes to open the hood, what would you like to see under there? What's more, should you need an edge in the acceleration department, this 427 will always put a smile on your face.
