Vehicle Description

1941 Lincoln Continental Cabriolet Resto-Mod Previous owner drove car for 50 years! 1 of 400 built in 1941 Volanta Coach Red exterior with a vacuum-operated power convertible top and red interior Updated with a 1950s Oldsmobile Rocket 324 CID V-8 engine, rebuilt around 1996 GM three-speed automatic transmission Oldsmobile Dashboard, steering column and steering wheel Oldsmobile bucket seats Old-School hotrod restoration Vacuum-operated power windows Trunk-mounted spare tire Helped establish the long-hood, short-deck styling theme that still exists today    Want some exclusivity with an old-school hotrod restoration with some class? Feeling the need to set yourself apart at the local cruise shows? MotoeXotica Classic Cars can help; we are proud to present this 1941 Oldsmobile Rocket Powered Lincoln Continental Cabriolet resto-mod. At one of 400 built in 1941, you won't see many other examples around. The car's previous owners purchased the vehicle on March 20, 1965 in Blue Island, Illinois, according to a copy of the certificate of title of a motor vehicle. Dressed in Volanta Coach Red paint, the car's exterior is in decent shape for an older restoration, but there are some blemishes on the car's power convertible top, which has plenty of patina. The windows and windshield and the vehicle's lights are also in good shape. One way to identify it as a 1941 is by the pushbuttons on the doors, replacing the previous year's traditional door handles. Another is to look for the parking lights atop the front fenders. The cabriolet rolls on Firestone Deluxe Champion Gum-Dipped Tires, size 8.20-15, surrounding Lincoln V-12 moon hubcaps. All of the body panels are straight and in good shape and the bumpers are in near-excellent condition. The engine bay is in good shape and has an oil pressure gauge mounted on the passenger-side firewall. Even if you do meet another '41 Lincoln Continental cabrio, it probably won't have an Oldsmobile Rocket V-8 engine from the 1950s in it like this one does. The 324 CID engine was rebuilt approximately 20 years ago. It's connected to a three-speed automatic transmission. Inside, the red Oldsmobile bucket seats are in very good condition, the vehicle's carpet is in good shape and the Oldsmobile dashboard is in one piece. The Oldsmobile two-spoke steering wheel is in good order, the door panels are in good condition, as are the mirrors and shift lever. However it should be noted the gas gauge and light dimmer switch are inoperative. Finishing off the interior's look is the factory AM deluxe radio. What started as Edsel Ford's custom-bodied personal car to tool around Florida during a vacation in 1939 became Lincoln's signature model. Styled by Bob Gregorie, the original Continental was one of the first cars to recognized as more than a machine by New York's Museum of Modern Art and the Classic Car Club of America. Gregorie used the Lincoln-Zephyr as the Continental's starting point. The Continental was seven inches lower than the standard Lincoln, eliminating the need for running boards for ingress and egress. The hood was nearly parallel to the front fenders. Chrome was confined to the grille and instead of door handles, Gregorie specified the pushbuttons. Competition to this Lincoln in 1941 included Cadillac's Series 62 two-door Convertible, Chrysler's New Yorker Convertible Coupe and Packard's 180 Convertible. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!! This car is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 52,287 miles. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, mileage exempt title.
