Vehicle Description
STK 2172 1940 Chevrolet Master 85 This vintage 1940 Chevrolet
Master 85 Flying Lady' is an older restoration and is virtually
complete in every detail. The odometer reading of 33,523 miles may
well be correct, but we are not absolutely sure. Note that the
solid 2-door body has not been modified (or molested) in any way. A
nice new coat of Tuxedo Black paint (the original color) was
applied in the late '80's. Inside, the seats were reupholstered in
beige cloth and are in very good condition, as is the dashboard,
headliner, steering wheel and all working gauges. It is a 'radio
delete' model, but does have other options including dual wipers,
dual air horns and a heater. The Chevy is powered by the 216 cubic
inch Stovebolt Six which was rated at 85 BHP and 170 lb/ft torque.
We do not believe that this engine has ever required a rebuild. It
is backed by a 3-speed manual gearbox that utilizes Vacuum Assist
Shift with synchronizers in 2nd and 3rd gears. The chassis is solid
with 4-wheel hydraulic drum brakes and bias-ply tires mounted on 16
factory steel wheels with trim rings and center hubcaps. This Chevy
Master 85 is a classic Bowtie and a good performer - a piece of
pre-war history. It is ready for your next hometown cruise-in. Call
