Vehicle Description
STK 2189 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS396
This Chevelle is an original 138 code SS396. It is believed to be a
lifelong North Carolina resident and was the benefactor of a total
restoration in 2009. Inside, outside and under the hood, this car
was beautifully done, and it is a beast. In 2013, Nesbitt
Performance, Graham NC, upgraded the original 'Rat' 396ci engine
with a 496ci stroker big-block. Engineering features include: Comp
roller cam/rockers, square port heads, 2.19/1.88 valves, Winters
intake, 750cfm Holley double-pumper and Hooker headers w/3"
exhaust. The fully balanced motor comes with a dyno sheet:
550hp/505lb/ft. Everything under the hood, right down to the hose
clamps, looks original. That said, it certainly doesn't sound
original. The Muncie M-21 close-ratio 4-speed transmission and
positraction differential with 3.55:1 gears are both
numbers-matching. Brakes are power disc/drum with cross-drilled
rotors and factory 15x7 Rally wheels mount BFGoodrich Radial T/A
tires. The Torch Red repaint (2009) is outstanding and every gap is
right. The black vinyl interior looks totally original and
virtually flawless - bucket seats, S/S wheel, console w/Hurst
shifter, factory 'Blinker' tach/gauge package, tinted windows and
A/C delete. The current owner (6 years) spared no expense to
recreate a special Bowtie that is built to run. Look at the photos,
but understand that you must see this Chevelle to truly appreciate
it. Our SS396/496 is ready for a new owner who will value this
upgraded classic. Call 800-650-1055, or visit our website
