1956 VOLKSWAGEN TYPE-1 KARMANN CABRIOLET “BEETLE”: --White with Black interior, Black carpeting and Black convertible top, Completely Restored, 1.1 liter 4-cylinder, 4-speed manual. The history of the Beetle Convertible is part of Volkswagens history from day one. Right from the Beetle’s early history in the late 1930’s, a cabriolet or convertible was planned. Developed and engineered by Dr. Ing. Ferdinand Porsche directly from the war-era Volkswagen KDF-Wagen, the post-war era Karmann cars are as near to the idea of a “people’s car” than any VW models that followed. This car is the embodiment of Volkswagen and its history from its start and the ultimate for any VW or series automobile collection. Professionally restored to concours condition, this Type-1 Karmann Cabriolet is type correct and exactly as it was when new, but better having used today ‘s materials during restoration. It has been sold in the past by Autosport Designs to its most recent Swiss collector and collection While in its previous ownership, this Beetle Cabriolet has been serviced properly and as needed regardless of use. Everything is well sorted and working as it should. It has just recently been traded back to Autosport Designs and thus, seeking new ownership.
