You can bet that Pontiac was going to hype their favorite musclecar in the factory literature for 1969, but rest assured that these words captured the feeling that would place a generation behind the wheel of the mighty GTO. If you didn’t have one, you had a friend who did, and he still wishes he’d never sold it.
“There are leaders. There are followers. And The Great One – Pontiac GTO – is still kingpin. No matter how the Johnny-come-latelys try, they have yet to snatch the reins from our ultimate road car. Small wonder. With its long hood, lean lines and short deck, it looks like a French curve on wheels. And GTO handles like an extension of your mind.”
This 1969 Pontiac GTO has been restored and is reported to be equipped with its correct 400-cid, 350-hp V-8 engine with a four-barrel carb that is matched with an automatic transmission. Finished in the vibrant and correct color mix of Matador Red with a white interior, this GTO is well-equipped with air conditioning, bucket seats, power steering, AM/FM radio, Rally II wheels and highlighted with redline tires. Along with correct powerplant and colors, the trims are also reported as being correct for this machine that’s ready for driving enjoyment or show.
