Ferrari introduced the Mondial 8 in coupe form at the Geneva Auto Show in March 1980, though production did not start until 1981. Mondial (which means “world” in Italian) had been employed previously by the marque and was used this time to honor Ferrari’s four-cylinder sports racing cars of the 1950s. The Mondial was the follow-up to the 308 GT4 designed by Bertone. As was more typical of Ferrari, Pininfarina again penned the design. Power was supplied by the same four-cam, transverse-mounted 2,927-cc V-8 used in the preceding 308 GT4.

This beautiful Mondial Cabriolet is sporting fewer than 26,000 miles which are believed to be original (please note this is a mileage exempt car). Mounted transversely in the Mondial is well-detailed 237 horsepower, fuel-injected V-8 engine. Married to the engine is a five-speed manual gearbox with a gated shifter. The Ferrari is fitted with aluminum wheels, power four-wheel disc brakes and power steering. Inside the Ferrari is a 2+2 seating configuration with black leather upholstery, Ferrari floor mats, newer stereo unit, power windows and air conditioning. The convertible top of this Ferrari is complete with a convertible top boot.

This desirable Ferrari was built in limited production numbers with only 629 Cabriolets built from 1983 to 1985.
