For Sale: 1972 Chevrolet/GMC C10 Shortbox in Jefferson, Wisconsin

Vehicle Description

This truck was built in Fremont, CA. It was sold new in CA and then went to Arizona. It still stands on the Arizona title. It was driven from Mesa, AZ to WI! It was built by GMC. Today it sports a Chevy grill and tailgate. Most of us prefer the Chevy look. Of course it is titled as a GMC. The engine is a Z24 crate motor. It has Aluminum angle plug heads, Holley carb, Hedman headers and a never used A/C compressor. I addition, this truck is equipped with power steering and power brakes. The front brakes are disc. The transmission is a 700 r4 automatic. Great launch and nice low rpm overdrive cruising. These transmissions are tough. The rear end is an open Ford 9 inch with 3.40 gears. With the combination of the overdrive and these gears, the cruising rpm is perfect. The previous owner claims to have gotten 20 mpg on his trip. The chrome rally wheels have very nice BFG Radial T/A tires.  The size is 275/60/15. The stance suggests the suspension was altered. The rear likely had a leaf or two removed. The front is shorter coils? I really like the way it sits and how it rides. The interior has been redone. A different steering wheel was installed. The seat was reupholstered, new carpet installed and Sony Xplod stereo was fitted. This truck has the factory gauge package which included the tachometer. This truck is amazing underneath. There simply is no rust. I see no sign of any repairs. In fact, I believe the cab mount bushings are still original. The exceptional condition of the undercarriage really makes this truck desirable. You will like the nice exhaust system, too. The body also appears to never have been rusty or repaired. The color is now the late 90’s GM Dark Toreador. It is a very dark burgundy metallic. There are many chips, etc. that have been touched up. I would call it a ten-footer. Not a show quality finish. When I combine the year, the short bed, the powertrain and the overall rust- free condition, this truck is perfect. It is a fantastic driver that will look good at any local cruise night or show.
