Chevrolet’s advertising agency, Campbell-Ewald, cleverly advertised the 1967 Corvette as “A Wolf in Wolf’s Clothing” as well as “A Good Second-Hand Car,” referring to the Corvette’s 0- to 60-mph performance against the stop watch. Long considered to be the pinnacle evolution of the iconic Sting Ray, the 1967 model was the last of the C2 Corvettes. The styling team of Peter Brock, Bob Veryzer, Tony Lapine, Chuck Pohlman and Larry Shinoda, under the direction of Bill Mitchell, was responsible for notable refinements such as flat finish rocker panels sans ribbing, a new single backup light mounted above the license plate and distinctive six-inch slotted ‘Rally Wheels.’
The year 1967 would bring an end to a run of Corvettes that would become some of the most sought after American sports cars. Even though this was the last year for this body style, it was the least decorated body of the C2 generation. Most of the script was removed from the car, which included fender flags and hood emblems. With this year, new styling ques were noted on the inside and on the outside of the car. The front fenders had five-slot functional vents; and the handbrake in the interior was moved from under the dash to the center console on the ’67 models. Due to new safety regulations, knock-off wheels were now being replaced with bolt on wheels. Although this law did not take full effect until 1968; Corvette changed to bolt-on wheels with clip on center caps.
This Corvette has been meticulously restored and during the restoration the trim tag was replaced with a new trim tag. The current trim tag reads Tuxedo Black paint (900AA); Teal Blue leather interior (419BG).
In 1967, Chevrolet offered four different production 427 engine options. This car has a Tri-power version with three two-barrel Rochester carbs and it was rated at 435 horsepower. Transferring this power to the rear differential is a four-speed manual transmission. The deep roar of this engine travels through side mounted exhaust; and this Corvette’s stopping power comes from powered four-wheel disc brakes.
The exterior of the this Corvette is presented in Tuxedo Black paint work with a teal stinger hood; and is complimented with cast aluminum bolt-on wheels, excellent chrome work and nicely displayed chrome bumpers. The interior is tailored with Teal Blue leather upholstery and matching carpet. Adorning the interior is a wood steering wheel, power windows, in dash radio and electric clock.
