This custom 1929 Ford Model A is for sale in our Houston TX showroom. The model A was Fordâ??s predecessor to the Model T but it was really a completely different car. This Model A is a completely different car yet. Considered a Streetrod which by definition is a pre war car that has been modified using new age components. This 29 is a great example of what a Streetrod is all about. Start with the engine, gone is the 60 HP 4 cylinder engines that were good for about 35 MPH maybe 40 if you were going down a steep enough hill. In its place is a rather potent 327 that was transplanted from a 65 Vette. The headers allow the 327 to really breathe especially at the higher RPMâ??s. The high rise intake has a classic Quadra jet carb sitting on top giving this Ford a GM heart. Of course stuffing these much bigger engines into these tight spaces tend to get them running a little warm but with the Walker radiator in good working order overheating is not an issue. The transmission is TH350 making this Streetrod a pleasure to drive. The Ford 9 â?? rear end has been filled with a set of 3.00 gears giving you the ability to get this 29 up on the highway and actually cruise. The 4 link in the rear was added to bring this Model Aâ??s ride quality into the 21st century. Not only does it hook up a lot better but the overall feel has greatly increased making this Streetrod a very roadworthy car. Inside the â??Golden Oldiesâ? gauges have been laid out nicely and present themselves very well. Something that was never offered in a model A, Air Conditioning was the perfect add on enabling you to take those long trips on those hot summer days. The exterior is finished in a true one off metallic paint that sparkles like nothing I have seen before.
