Stk. 2179 1973 Dodge Challenger
Nice Gen1 MOPAR 'pony cars' are pretty rare today. Chrysler Corporation did not produce as many 'E Body" cars as GM and Ford. This 1973 Challenger began life as a mild-mannered small-block, but has since experienced some serious upgrades. The exterior re-spray (2011) is a color used on the 1970 Challenger R/T - Sublime. Accents include a matte-black hood/scoop, R/T stripes and period-correct US Wheels. Inside, the fully restored black vinyl interior is in very good condition. Seats have been reupholstered and new door cards have been installed. Carpeting, headliner and dash are all very nice. That said, MOPAR was all about muscle in the early '70s and this Challenger is a testament to that concept. The original small-block has been replaced by a '69 Magnum 440ci that has been completely rebuilt. This powerplant features: MOPAR Stage II heads, Edelbrock single-plane intake, Holley double pumper and full tube headers. The performance hydraulic cam has a nice lift, but remains a good match for the upgraded 3-speed Torque-Flite with 3,000RPM stall converter and 3.73:1 gearing. Other upgrades and options include: power steering, power disc/drum brakes, tinted windows and AM/FM stereo. If you want an old-school Challenger that is built to run, you should take a look at this one. Even though it is not an original R/T, the performance upgrades were well thought out and implemented.
