With the introduction of Cadillac’s V-16 in 1930 and the V-12 in 1931, followed by the Pierce-Arrow V-12 in 1931 and both Marmon’s Sixteen and Packard’s all-new Twin Six in 1932, the debut of Lincoln’s all new V-12 in 1932 was no surprise. Neither was the quality of its engineering; with its seven main bearings, fork-and-blade connecting rods and separate cylinder blocks, the new engine was certainly an engineering tour de force. Its weight when installed in the car totaled 1-1/2 tons. The only problem with it was the prohibitive cost of manufacture – it was in fact so expensive to build that it was replaced in just two years by a more conventional design.

While the KB shared some appearances with the mid-priced KA; the KB model had numerous distinctive features. One of these special features included a blue cloisonné emblem, while the KA featured a red emblem. The wheelbase for the KB was longer at 145-inches and the radiator shell was noticeably thinner. The hood now had vent doors instead of the previous louvers. This Lincoln KB is recognized by the CCCA as a Full Classic.

The 1932 Lincoln Series 235, five-passenger sedan offered here is stated as being in original appearing condition, with the exception of one repaint. The 447.9 cubic inch, 150 horsepower V-12 engine and three-speed manual transmission have recently been rebuilt. The Bendix Duo-Servo four-wheel cable operated brakes have also been rebuilt. The owner reports that upon purchase and inspection of Lincoln the chassis had deteriorated significantly. Because of this a better and correct chassis was used as a replacement. A new exhaust system, clutch and wiring harness were also installed. The exterior is presented with two-tone dark blue paintwork, dual side-mounted spare tires, wire wheels, wide whitewall tires and a rear-mounted luggage rack. The interior is reported to be original and finished in tan, with jump seats fitted to the rear passenger compartment.

This largely original, Full Classic, Lincoln KB is one of only 216 produced for this model year. The meticulously maintained and fully operating condition makes this an ideal Lincoln for touring.
