As the last of the 3.2 Carrera Series, this 1988 Cabriolet 3.2-Liter features the highly desirable G50 5-Speed gearbox and features including air conditioning, power windows, automatic speed control, alarm system, Hi-Fi sound system, power comfort seats, electronic top and integrated fog lights, among others. This elegantly dressed example comes finished in Silver Metallic over Marine Blue Martial leather upholstery with complementing top and boot.
Delivered new through Avon Motor Cars in January 1989, the Carrera remained in the area for some time, transferring ownership in January 1992 to a gentleman who would go on to care for this Cabriolet for the next 24 years. The family moved states a few times, while always taking the Porsche with them, and caring for it along the way. Today, the car remains completely stock in configuration, retaining almost all original components, including the upholstery, trim, Blaupunkt Reno radio and emergency accessories. Matching identification tags are still adhered to the door jambs and underside of the hood, while original Sekurit side glass displays Porsche Alarm-System stickers. The exterior's paint was refreshed in 2008. The underside remains completely unmolested and nicely detailed with its factory sprayed cosmoline coating remaining intact. In the engine compartment and under the front stowage area all of the factory VIN stickers and decals remain while displaying well cared for and nicely detailed cosmetics.
The motor pulls strong, pairing well to the near bullet-proof G50 transmission. A recent summer 2016 service included an all-wheel alignment and air conditioning recharge. All electronics and top are in proper working order with many years of accompanying service invoices. The 911 is also complemented by all of its originals manuals and booklets in vinyl sleeve, copy of its window sticker, records from 1992-2015, air compressor, front plate holder, Porsche floor mats, unused spare tire, tire bag, gloves and jack. The collectability of 3.2 Carreras continues to develop as more enthusiasts value the model's everyday drivability and nostalgia paired with modern amenities.
