Vehicle Description
This El Camino was featured in the January 2014 issue of Popular Hot Rodding. It originally started out as a U-code 402 big-block car, and now has a built 454 with no detail overlooked. This frame-off rotisserie build has approximately 2,600 miles since completion. The seller acquired the professional build with 1,000 miles on it, then took two years and 1,600 miles to make it ready to enjoy. It is well-sorted-out. Powered by a GM 454 built to 502 specifications and Keisler Tremec 5-speed with hydraulic clutch, it also features 3.73 ratio 12-bolt posi-traction GM rear axle, GM serpentine belt system, Hotchkis 2" lowering springs, and urethane bushings in suspension and body. It's also equipped with Be Cool aluminum radiator with two electric fans, Classic Auto Air climate control, 3" Flowmaster exhaust, 18" Foose wheels and 4-wheel power GM disc brakes. Finished in deep black paint with graphite SS stripes on hood, the underside of the hood is also painted body color. It has powder-coated frame and suspension, smoothed and painted firewall, and all chrome trim was replaced. Other exterior features include new front and rear glass, hidden and hinged storage compartment in bed, new bumpers and shaved door locks with keyless entry system with remote lock kit. The interior has GM black upholstery, bucket seats with slider extensions, console and SS gauge dash, custom billet steering wheel and Retro-Sound radio with dash speakers. It passed the National Street Rod Association Safety 23 inspection.
