Motor Trend magazine were certainly big fans of the all-new 1963 Corvette and the respect and desirability for the car has only increased from the first launch. Roger Huntington wrote that “for the last five years we’ve been bombarded with rumors of an ‘all-new’ Corvette that was supposed to be just around the corner.” He continued; “This is the one we’ve been waiting for, and it’s all the rumors promised – and more. This is a modern sports car. In most ways it’s as advanced as the latest dual-purpose sports/luxury cars from Europe – and that includes the new Jaguar XKE, Ferrari GT, Mercedes 300SL, and all the rest.”

Originally delivered to Humphrey Chevrolet Company on West Wisconsin Avenue in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; this beautiful 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray Coupe was listed at $5,648.95 when new, including the $59.00 delivery charge, according to the car’s accompanying documentation. The original purchase was executed by Bryan Frame of nearby Waukesha, Wisconsin on June 15, 1963.

The Corvette was purchased from the John Staluppi Collection in December 2012. This Corvette is believed to be a largely original example. Under the hood is a detailed and optional L75 327-cid, 300-hp V-8 engine that is complete with 10.5:1 compression and a single four-barrel carburetor. In 1963 only 1,505 units were reportedly produced with the L75 engine paired with a Powerglide automatic transmission. Adding to the desirability and rarity is factory air conditioning, which only 278 received. Other comforts found on this car are power steering and brakes; seatbelts, tinted glass and an AM/FM radio.

The Corvette is riding on very rare and extremely desirable Kelsey-Hayes “turbine” cast aluminum wheels with two-eared knock-offs and fitted with whitewall tires. The original spare tire is still “unused” and remains tucked away in the spare tire well. The 1963 Corvette owner’s guide is also onboard. The exterior of this classic American sports car is finished in Silver Blue paintwork with matching blue vinyl interior and blue carpets. The exterior has well-presented chrome and stainless; and the emblems on the exterior are stated as original. The seats are also stated as original and they are accompanied by a center console and a dashboard with complete instrumentation. This is a very unique opportunity to own a time capsule Corvette that is well-preserved and well-appointed.
