Vehicle Description
This GTO Judge Convertible is one of only 168 produced by Pontiac Division in 1970. It comes from a private collection. Built on November 26, 1969, at the Pontiac Assembly Plant in Pontiac, MI, it was shipped as an export vehicle through GM of Canada Ltd., in Oshawa, Ontario, for delivery to the first retail owner. When restored, the Judge was completely disassembled and stripped to bare metal. The frame was removed and the entire drivetrain was rebuilt. The body of this vehicle was completely gone over and made to fit better than new. After the body was prepared, it was given a fresh coat of the correct Verdoro Green (code 47), using the best modern DuPont base coat/clear coat paint. The Sandalwood bucket seat interior and convertible top were carefully done as well. The frame and all chassis components were stripped, replaced and/or refinished in the correct original factory finishes. The original 400 Ram Air III engine (code WS) was sent out and professionally rebuilt. All components were checked and refinished as new. The Ram Air III cylinder heads were checked and given a valve job, along with new valves and valve springs. Everything was then reassembled and the entire engine assembly was given a coat of the correct Pontiac silver-blue engine paint. The interior was complete redone with nothing but the best of correct materials. All instruments and gauges were checked for operation and repaired or replaced if necessary. All wire harnesses were checked and replaced as needed. The restoration on this Judge convertible is factory correct, right down to the original-style Firestone white-lettered tires. It comes with copies of all PHS paperwork and Pontiac Division Window Sticker.
