Vehicle Description
STK 2166 1970 Camaro SS
The second-generation Camaro was produced from 1970 to 1981. It was longer, lower and wider than the first generation Camaro. GM engineers defined it as "The Hugger - A Driver's Car". Chevrolet’s extensive experience gained from racing the first-generation Camaro led directly to advances in Gen2 steering, braking, and suspension. The Gen2 chassis was greatly refined in both performance and comfort, utilizing front sub-frame, A-arm/coil spring front suspension and rear leaf springs. This classic 1970 Camaro is a true SS version. It has been fully restored to a look very much like the ‘summer of 70’. A new coat Mulsanne Blue, the original color, was carefully applied in 2011. Factory-style white SS stripes, subtle pin-stripping, front air dam and a rear deck spoiler provide nice accents. The Camaro has a great stance on Billet Specialties 5-spoke chrome wheels. A fully restored black vinyl interior is every bit as sharp as the original. Comfort and performance features include: power steering, disc/drum power brakes, a Hurst Competition Plus shifter and an AM/FM stereo. Power is generated by a matching-numbers 350 small-block, totally rebuilt in 2011, and housed in a nicely detailed engine compartment. Edelbrock provided the dual-plane manifold and 4V carburetor. It exhales through factory headers and the free-flowing exhaust w/X-pipe - sounds awesome. Torque is delivered to a 4-speed Muncie manual transmission that feeds a 12-bolt GM posi-traction rear end with 4.11:1 gears. All told, this Camaro is a special driving experience.
