Steel Dreamz is proud to offer this true collectible 1955 Packard Clipper Panama hard top for sale. This is #5547 out of only 7000 that were produced that year. Very few survive today. It was owned by an elderly couple in California who only drove it to car shows and local events in Southern California. With only 32,013 miles showing, this Box A title car is in excellent condition inside and out. The totally rust free body wears an older repaint of the original colors that still looks good today. The trim, chrome and glass are all complete and range from good to excellent. The exterior is complemented by the original steel wheels with Packard hub caps and chrome trim rings wrapped in period correct wide white sidewall tires. The red and gray vinyl bench seat interior has been restored to original style. Upholstery, door panels, dash, headliner and carpets show very well. The original steering wheel has also been restored and the original AM push button radio is still in place. Power comes from a Packard 320 VI / 225 HP V8 that sits in a very clean engine bay. The engine has undergone a recent tune up which included a rebuild of the carb and new exhaust system. A 3 speed 727 Torque-flite automatic transmission sits behind the engine. (This was a popular upgrade as the original “Ultra-matic” transmissions were very problematic.) The car runs and drives extremely well and will make an excellent addition to someones collection.
