This 1937 Packard Super Eight Limousine is body style 1015, produced by Packard on the 139-inch wheelbase chassis. The car was purchased new by F.X. Matt of Utica, New York. He was a wealthy brewer that founded the West End Brewing Company; makers of Utica Club beer. He owned the car until 1959 when he died a few months shy of his 100th birthday. The car was purchased from the second owner in 1999. This is a very good original car that has never undergone a full restoration. Work has been undertaken on an ongoing, as-need basis that has retained the original presence and charm of this big Packard, while assuring reliable enjoyment. The exterior is finished in blue with a light blue coach stripe. Handsome twin sidemount spares are topped with rear view mirrors, and optional fog lamps below the headlights help to light the road. The long wheelbase, independent front suspension and hydraulic brakes make this a very comfortable tour car.
