Vehicle Description
STK 2165 1964 Ford Falcon Futura
The compact Ford Falcon was the basis for the 1964½ Mustangs. Many of the interior, chassis, suspension, and drivetrain components came directly from Futura/Sprint bins. This 1964 Futura Hardtop is considered to be a Gen2 Falcon with more modern styling and more performance options than the earlier version. This handsome 2-door has been fully restored and maintained by the current owner for the last 9 years. The solid, straight body was refinished with Ford Red in 2006 - a professional paint job that has been very well cared for. All of the chrome trim is very nice and period correct 15” Cragars provide a lasting visual impact. For thorough protection from the elements, a comprehensive weather-stripping package has also been installed. The interior is fully restored with seats and door panels refinished in red and white vinyl. All of the dashboard bezels have been chrome plated and the gauges have been converted to white-face through-out. The radio is an AM/FM stereo behind an original ‘AM faceplate’. Tinted windows, new carpeting and a new headliner complete the interior. The replacement 302ci engine was totally rebuilt in 2008. It was bored .030 over and a Ford Performance steel crank/rod assembly was installed. The mild street cam has 260 duration and .525/.490 lift. Rocker arms were converted to 1.6:1 and a 570CFM Holley was installed. The motor sounds great though a Flowmaster exhaust setup and torque is delivered via a Ford C-4 3-speed automatic. Braking is power assisted and the front hubs have been converted to disc/caliper units. Look at the photos again - if you want a fun Blue Oval, this sharp Futura has your name on it.
