1999 Plymouth Prowler
When comparing modern cars to classics the topic always come up about if newer cars will have the same collector value in the future like the current classics do. Due to large production numbers and a market flooded with different models from each manufacturer there tends to only be a few that stand out as collectable vehicles. One of those is the Plymouth Prowler. The concept was to create a hot rod roadster style vehicle and Plymouth looked to the 30s for their inspiration. With that the Prowler was born. The cars were only manufactured for 5 years and in the last few years the make was changed to Chrysler. This car wears the Plymouth name plate and is the last year that this was possible. It is a member of only 11,702 Prowlers that were ever built making it a pretty rare car especially when you add to that the fact that this car is a 1 owner vehicle with 11,500 miles. These cars have held their value well and in 20-30 years may be cars that the younger generation is going out and trying to find. In fact looking at auction numbers there was actually an increase in value midway through 2015. The car you see here has been very well maintained and is coated in a nice Red paint. It has been garage kept since new and typically only taken out when the weather is nice. The original front bumper has been removed to clean up the look of the front end but does come with the car should the new owner want to reinstall it someday.
Under the hood is the original 3.5L V6 motor that runs well. In the 1999 year the horsepower was bumped up and improved the 0-60 rating from 7.2 seconds to 5.9 seconds. It is paired with an automatic transmission and the car drives like a brand new car right out of the factory. Power disc brakes, power steering, air conditioning, cruise control, power locks, power windows, power seats, a tilt wheel and the alarm are all in place and still working well.
The interior of the car is complete in black and the upholstery shows virtually no signs of use. The dash has the centered gauge pods with the painted to match red bezel and all white faced gauges. The AM/FM/CD player delivers a great sound and everything is working.
Whether you get it to drive and enjoy or stash it away in a collection, this car is definitely one to check out. It is an excellent example of one these cars and is ready for a new home.
