The Porsche manufacturer has kept many satisfied customers throughout the years and continues to hold true to its heritage of producing cars that excite and enhance the driver's ability. From the early cars to the cars of today Porsche has stayed true to its roots that Ferdinand Porsche instilled in the 50's. The 944 was introduced into the Porsche lineup in 1982 and went thru some significant progressions till 1991 when the model was discontinued. This model was to bridge the gap from the entry level 924 and the current 911SC, a little more power and more aggressive styling. In 1989 the 944 was offered with the 3.0L that was producing 208HP and putting it close to the turbo version. Also, the name was tweaked to the 944 S2 to represent the update of the engine. Handling and some updated items set the 89-91 version apart from the earlier cars and are destined to be the cars to keep in your stable.
This particular 944 S2 is very impressive in every aspect of what a Porsche enthusiast is looking for or any person that can appreciate quality in an older vehicle. Documentation from new, service records, owner's manuals, and the original MSRP come along with this unprecedented vehicle. Sold new out of Spartan Motors in Highland, NY on June 20th, 1990 to Dr. Alfredo Santi who kept the car till late 2005. The car was maintained routinely at the delivering dealer with service and warranty items done to factory recommendations. Car traded hands two other times before the current owner and PCA regional president acquired the car to showcase in the Porsche Parade. Many of our cars are very nice and well done, however coming across a car in this condition with the significant amount of documentation and care to ownership is very rare. The car may be nicer than the day it rolled out of the factory in Germany. It has great ownership history, proper factory correct items and sitting in pin perfect condition...inside, outside and underneath. All features are working properly and a joy to drive.
The vehicle was optioned with factory options; RENO radio, Limited Slip Differential, Hi-Fi Stereo, amplifier system, and partial leather seats. The car comes with car cover, Coco floor mats, original books, a binder full of service receipts, keys for car and locks, sunshade, and sunroof storage bag. The market is strong for the Porsche's and this 944 is a perfect example of the next great thing. There are very few concourse quality 944's on the market that also have such low mileage.
