Plymouth's "dare to be different" attitude was exemplified with the road runner as in 1968 the paid 50, 000 dollars to Warner Brothers to use the name and likeness of their iconic Road Runner cartoon character and they spent thousands on the development of the cars signature "beep beep" horn. The design and promotional aspect was fun and fresh, however the power and performance of these cars were taken very seriously during development as the muscle car wars were at their height of their popularity in 1968 & 1969.
This 1968 Roadrunner is a one-owner highly original car purchased at Ver Hage of Holland in Michigan on March 8th, 1968. It's powered by the 383ci V8 4 BBL engine paired with the Torqueflite automatic transmission. It also came with bench seats, vinyl trim, Sure-Grip differential, chrome-plated road wheels, and more. This car has had a re-paint and has been maintained to original specs staying in the same household. Finding a well-preserved one-owner Roadrunner is a collector's dream considering these are some of the most sought after muscle cars out there.
