1970 Dodge Challenger
This is an extremely rare, numbers matching Special Edition Challenger with a 383 power plant.
The unfortunate reality is that examples like this are becoming harder to find and that makes them incredibly valuable to the discerning collector. It is also worth noting that driving a car as it rolled out of the factory in 1970 cannot be matched. This vehicle is a great example of an original, never restored and extremely well maintained 1970 Dodge Challenger SE.
Under the hood is the original numbers matching 383ci four barrel V-8 linked to an automatic transmission running down to a 3.23 geared Shurgrip rear-end. Electronic ignition has been added and the block and air intake have been repainted. It runs and perfectly and sounds great through its dual exhaust with chrome tips coming out the rear.
The exterior shows to have been very well cared for with its original factory applied Bright Yellow Paint. The left front fender was repaired many years ago with excellent matching paint done by a Mopar enthusiast. The original vinyl top is still intact and in excellent condition. All the trim and emblems are near perfect...if not perfect. The car sits on 14? Magnum rims with like new BF Goodrich radial tires.
The interior is exceptional with the front seat leather being dyed back to its original color with the rest just as it came. The front kick panels are correct but with speakers added for better sound, however, the originals come with the car. The center console, carpet, dash and headliner all look just like they did in 1970. The carpet and headliner have been replaced with aftermarket reproductions. The car has the SE gauge package, which all work, and an added Auto Gage Tach mounted to the steering wheel. There has been an aftermarket radio installed but we can help you replace it with the correct AM 7-watt that came with the car.
It has a long list of available options that came with the SE package and this vehicle checks off nearly every one, starting with the Firm Feel steering box, center console, wood trim, bucket seats, overhead roof consolette, duel chrome exhaust, Light package, High Performance Axle Package, instrument cluster and even factory air conditioning to name just a few. All this with only 89,500 miles!
To find a numbers matching Special Edition in this kind of condition is a rare feat.
