She comes back to us from a small private Florida collection where she was the realization of a dream and one of the first cars acquired as the start of a collection that is kept in near-clean room conditions in elegant surroundings. She’s been driven, shown and won awards during her time in Florida. Alas, as most collectors find out, the collection space filled up and the owner fell in love with a 220SE cabrio which he had to make room for. This car drew the short straw and is now available for your stable.
Before moving to Florida, this Ford was the love of another visionary guy who invested nearly $160k in its complete superior professional restoration with elegant upgrades. These upgrades include a perfectly-rebuilt performance-tuned ’48 Offenhauser V8 coupled to a three speed automatic transmission coupled to a floor shifter which looks like a period correct manual shifter. How Cool! This visionary’s son has been a client of ours for many years. When his dad passed, this Phaeton came to us for sale.
