Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to offer an awesome 2008 Jeep Wrangler X Supercharged. The Jeep brand emerged from the call for a military vehicle to be created in preparation for World War II. Only two companies responded to the US Government's request, one of which was Willys-Overland. Willys-Overland created these General Purpose vehicles in great numbers and they were referred to as G.P.s for short. It only takes a few times saying G.P. that you can see how it turned into "Jeep." Jeeps transformed greatly over the years from the early MB models, to the later CJ models often referred to as "Civilian Jeeps." The name "Wrangler" was introduced in 1987 when keep was under AMC ownership. The Wrangler was meant to be a bit more comfortable than the CJ, but still retain the essence of was a Jeep should be: utilitarian 4x4 transportation. Fast forward through two generations from the first Wrangler and we arrive at what is easily the most comfortable and street friendly Jeep Wrangler to date: the JK. Introduced in 2007, the JK featured a longer wheelbase, and a wider track as well as a complete body redesign with a slightly swept back grill. Safety features like stability control, traction control, and anti lock brakes squash the myths of Jeeps being "dangerous" cars. With this new generation, and the introduction of a 4 door model, Wranglers are now more popular than ever. There's no need to be a cowboy, or an adventurer, now businessmen and a soccer mom can enjoy the fun of a Wrangler as well.
This particular Wrangler is a 2008 model featuring the 3.8 Liter V6 engine and a 6 speed manual transmission. To bump up the power a bit on this one, a Ripp Intercooled Supercharger has been added. This Supercharger is tuned in using a Diablo Sport Tuner. This tune also makes the most of the other engine mods such as the AFE throttle body spacer and Magnaflow Catback Exhaust. With plenty of power, the Jeep is now able to turn the 35" Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ tires with ease. These are mounted to a sharp set of 18" Dick Cepek wheels. To provide room for the larger meats, this Jeep has a 4" Rough Country lift. So it has the engine, suspension, and tires to get you over the obstacles, luckily this one has the protection to get you home in one piece as well. Up front is a Rock Slide Engineering Aluminum front bumper. Attached to that is a Smittybilt x RC 9,000 LB Winch. An aluminum fuel cover and some side steps also aid in protection wheel rock climbing or trail driving. Inside you'll be comfortable in Corbeau seats.
