For Sale: 1974 Dodge Charger in Fairmont City, Illinois

Vehicle Description

For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1974 Dodge Charger SE. 1974 would be the last year for the third generation Charger that started in 1971. The next generation is something far from a muscle car. Richard Petty said that this generation of Charger was one of his favorites to drive in the NASCAR series. This one is the SE and is powered by a 440 cubic inch big block V8 and a single four barrel carburetor. Horsepower was at 275 and torque was 375. Unfortunately when you selected the 440 from the options list, you could no longer select the 4-speed transmission making all 440 powered Chargers, automatics. The rear end is the common and stout MOPAR 8 3/4. This fine example was equipped with a new engine and transmission 5 years ago and still runs strong today. More recently the car was fitted with a new carburetor, exhaust and a battery. Painted in an easy on the eyes Sea Foam Green with the traditional black interior. The interior is fitted with cloth bucket seats, a center console, Pistol Grip floor mounted shifter and a full set of gauges to keep an eye on the engine's vitals. Other options and equipment include Power steering, Power brakes, Power windows and Cruise Control.
