No Rust Solid solid solid! Did I happen to mention that this sweetie is as solid as they come? This 1947 Ford Super Deluxe 8 Convertible has been with the same owner for 60 years and only has 23929 miles showing on the odometer!! This beauty was sold because the owner has Parkinsons disease and cannot finish restoring the car. I was told by his son that his dad purchased the car in 1952 in Charlotte North Carolina at a Sheriffs sale where it had been impounded for running Moonshine. It is under restoration. I have started painting it. I am painting it yellow with red and white leather interior. The fenders and grill are already painted and they look GREAT. The seats are already upholstered and they are GORGEOUS. She has a later flat-head V8 engine with 3 speed manual transmission but I am not sure if I am going to leave it in the car or go with a later engine and automatic trans. The Flathead engine runs GREAT. There are a lot of new parts and a lot of extra parts with her!! NEW PARTS include hub caps trim rings wiring harness weather stripping header bow door sill weather stripping running boards Bob Drake outside mirrors Bob Drake rear fender splash shields (rubber) along with a pair of stainless splash shields and newly re-plated bumpers and bumper guards. Some options include spot light fender skirts front bumper grill guard bumper guards radio heater defroster trim rings clock and side mirrors. There were only 22159 of these built and the base cost before adding options was $1740. The only 47 Fords that cost more were the Woodie Wagons and the Sportsman convertible. She was originally yellow however the owner was going to paint her black. I like the Yellow myself with red and ivory leather. Wont that be Beautiful? I have started restoring this beauty and have it about half painted now and have had the seats recovered in red and ivory leather. She is going to be a great looking car!! Dont let her get away.
