For Sale: 1966 Ford Mustang in Manitowoc, Wisconsin

Vehicle Description

All vehicle trades considered, including classics and performance. Now here is a classic. This restored 1966 Mustang convertible is a C-code model with its original 289ci engine and 3-speed manual transmission. It is a beautiful classic with timeless styling that looks as good today as it did 50 years ago. This Mustang was just completed in 2016. Look closely at the pictures and you'll see just how much work was done to this car. The body received many of the typical rust repairs found on old Mustangs, including the floors and cowl, along with some new sheetmetal. The finished product looks terrific and is exceptionally clean underneath. The VIN remains clearly visible on the inner fender, and the buck tag is also present. The exterior was repainted in Royal Maroon which is nicely accented by new chrome pieces, white power top, and 17" wheels. The engine is the original C-code 289 ci V8. It has been rebuilt and remains essentially stock, with the correct Motorcraft 2100 carburetor and exhaust manifolds. This is a great setup for a light Mustang like this. It starts and runs smoothly, is simple and reliable, has plenty of zip, and gets decent fuel economy. Note the aluminum radiator, dual reservoir master cylinder, and Monte Carlo bar. The 3-speed manual transmission also appears original and shifts fine with a smooth clutch feel. The car also has power steering for easy driving. The interior has Parchment seat covers and door panels which gives a classy look. Also note the center console and woodgrain steering wheel. The instrument cluster is standard 1966 Mustang and works properly. The horn, wipers, and e-brake also are fully functional, as is the AM radio. The heater / defroster, courtesy lights, and backup lights are all good too. A first generation Mustang convertible is one of the most iconic cars of the 1960s, and this example is especially desirable with its great condition, nice color combination, 289 engine, and 3-speed transmission. All the work has been done; all you have to do is put the top down and enjoy.
