For Sale: 1969 Dodge Charger in Lavergne, Tennessee

Vehicle Description

Sure, you already are attracted to this 1969 Dodge Charger in full General Lee attire... but the reason why this is going to be the most irresistible one ever is the fact that it comes from Waylon Jennings. Yes, the country music star and the show's "balladeer" cherished this coupe, and the car even has the letters to prove it!

While this car's legendary connection already makes it worth every penny, take some time to really look at the quality work on this car. The orange paint looks great from any distance, and it's easy to see there has been some serious attention to get the car to this level. The panels have a level of straightness and gap tolerances that surpasses the factory and really highlights the sporty curves of this hardtop body. It makes for a great canvas to add the General Lee's signature graphics and push bumper. Of course, a '69 Charger already has a huge desirability factor that comes from the unique elements like the hidden headlights, split grille, extra-wide chrome bumpers, and flying buttress C-pillars. Finish it off with the correct Vector wheels with Shelby center caps, and this is the general that commands all others when it shows up on the scene.

Chargers are popular because they're fast, but they're also spacious, comfortable, and surprisingly luxurious, too. The handsome black bucket seats are quite likely new and in terrific shape. The matching door panels, dash pad, and carpets all have this same feeling, which tells you a careful hand replaced anything that wasn't up to Waylon's standards. A center console is always a welcome sight, especially with the stylized wood paneling and bright shifter poking through. Beyond the factory three-spoke steering wheel is a factory full gauge package. In fact, this one feels so authentic, the tunes still come from the factory AM radio.

The engine bay is filled with Mopar big block power. The 383 cubic inch V8 looks great with the bright air grabber and valve covers contrasting nicely against the black fender walls. An Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and Mopar performance wiring add extra usability and some extra power to the big V8. The rumble from the dual exhaust makes this a showstopper all on its own. But with features like power steering and the 727A TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission, you'll be far more comfortable than Bo & Luke ever had it.

Cars that were used on the show were often beaten and bent until there was noting left to use. Instead this is the best of both worlds. You get a General Lee in great condition, and it has one of the strongest connections to the show possible. After all, you'll be the only one with this legendary muscle car that also has letters from Waylon Jennings getting nostalgic. But there's only one of these, so you better hurry and grab it.
