Three new Mustang models made it into production in 1969; Mach 1 included. It featured the familiar fastback body with simulated side scoops high on the quarter panel, an aggressively raked air dam on the front and a spoiler on the rear. As always, Ford supplied provisions for option hungry buyers. For 1970, the Mach 1 offered power from a 250-hp 351 V-8 up to a 335-hp 428 Cobra Jet. The Ford Mustang Mach 1 was a performance option package made available on the 1969 Mustang and continued through 1978.
The VIN on this Mach 1 shows that this car was originally assembled in Dearborn, Michigan with the optional 351-cid, 300-hp V-8 engine. Adorning the outside of this Mustang is Grabber Blue paint, Magnum 500 wheels, Goodyear tires, shaker hood scoop, hood-mounted tachometer; and matte black striping, front spoiler, trunk-mounted spoiler and rear window Sport Slats. The restoration was done to a very high level and still shows well today.
