Sporting a fully customized chassis, this 1939 De Luxe Ford has been heavily modified into a modern street rod. With a chassis built by the Roadster Shop, this '39 Ford features a Heidts IFS rack and pinion unit with polished upper and lower control arms up front while the rear features a chrome triangulated 4-link suspension with polished coilovers and a Ford 9-inch rear-end with 3.70 gearing. Under the hood is a Chevrolet Corvette 350ci V8 engine with roller rockers, Comp Cams camshaft, and Edelbrock Pro-Flo fuel injection. A billet Mallory distributor for Edelbrock fuel injection has also been added along with block hugger headers and a Flowmaster exhaust, while power is put to the ground through a 700R4 automatic transmission that has been upgraded with a Corvette servo and torque converter and a fully polished driveshaft. Cooling is handled by an AFCO polished aluminum radiator and 16-inch 3630 fCFM electric fan and other dress-up items under the hood include Edelbrock chrome valve covers, RPC billet wire keepers, chrome alternator, chrome air cleaner, and a complete Vintage Air front runner component drive system. The ‘39 body itself is a custom Gibbon fiberglass body that has been chopped and shaved and features an original steel '39 hood, cowl, and running boards and a Bob Drake '40 Standard grille while a set of custom machined aluminum front and rear bumpers have been added along with a custom vinyl wrap as well. This '39 Deluxe features numerous modern amenities such as power steering, power brakes, power windows, and a Vintage Air A/C setup with billet vents while the interior features power bucket seats, billet steering column with a Le Carrera aftermarket steering wheel, and a VHX custom gauge setup from Dakota Digital. A custom center console has been installed which houses a Pioneer Ipod/Bluetooth headunit and the controls for the power windows and air conditioning. This '39 Deluxe sports a set of custom Boze Twisted Fatal 5 billet wheels, wrapped in Cooper Zeon tires, with 17' wheels up front and 18' wheels out back while stopped by cross-drilled and slotted disc brakes all around with polished calipers and aluminum hubs and a polished remote brake reservoir. This '39 Deluxe was intended to be built into a convertible but because the build was halted, it is now a roadster/permanent convertible although a convertible top could be added later is one so desired. It has been built with no expense spared, and for the price cannot be duplicated and can be driven as is or taken to the next level and finished. Overall, this roadster is a superbly customized street rod that has been given all the comforts and performance of a modern car while retaining all the attitude and style of a classic 1939 Ford Deluxe.
