This 1957 Ford Thunderbird is for sale in our Louisville showroom. The Thunderbird was Fordâ??s answer to Chevroletâ??s little two door roadster, the Corvette. Though only running the 2 passenger bird for 3 short years, Americans absolutely adored the little car. Growing in size over the years these original first cars will always have a special place in the heart of consumers. This 57 is a great example of how much people loved these first generation cars tending to hold onto them much longer. This particular black beauty was bought back in 92 and began a long ongoing restoration process. The dusk rose paint was stripped off giving them a clean whole surface to work with. The front fenders were replaced and the black base coat was laid down. The hardtop with one of the most iconic automotive symbols ever, the optional porthole, was naturally painted the same color. The wire wheels are a nice touch and definitely classic T-Bird. The continental kit with the dual exhaust routed right out the back is another classic Bird touch. Under the hood the 312 CD motor sounds great with no hesitation upon start up it seems to be dialed in nicely. Backed up by the Ford-o-matic 2 speed this little black roadster is a breeze to drive. Drop here down in drive via the floor mounted shifter and off you go. Of course with having the top off as much as you will the interior has to compliment the exterior and this one does just that. The black vinyl seat with white inserts is a great combination. The white door panels only enhance the overall look. No soft top is no worry, if you get stuck in the rain the tonneau cover can easily be snapped into place and protect the interior from the rain.
