This Backdraft Cobra replica is a very well executed car. Backdraft Racing is known for producing a well built car which is much more solid than many other replica Cobras. The car is actually partially built by Backdraft Racing with some assembly left for the buyer of the car. The body is a one piece fiberglass molded body that has hand-laid fiberglass pieces in strategic areas for added rigidity and strength.
The Wheel wells, floor, luggage compartment, transmission tunnel, and firewall are laminated to the finished body to ensure extra strength. The chassis is comprised of hot rolled rectangular steel tubing, with laser cut steel plates throughout for strength in high stress areas.
The car has coil over suspension in the front with an adjustable stabilizer bar and 12.2" ventilated brake discs that have single piston ATE calipers. The car has an independent rear suspension which allows for camber and toe adjustments.
The power plant in this impressive Cobra is a Roush 427 V8 that produces a dyno tested 549hp and 523 lb/ft of torque. The transmission is a 5-speed Tremmec TKO 600.
The interior is setup just like the classic Cobras with a forward canted shifter, simple dashboard that consists of gauges and a few switches, Simpson harnesses, and simple bucket seats. This is a very well built, solid Cobra replica that stands out from the rest.
