For Sale: 1962 Jaguar E-Type in Kentwood, Michigan

Vehicle Description

Introduced in 1961, the E-Type was an immediate success. Designed under the guidance of Sir William Lyons, the car was an instant success when introduced at the Geneava Auto Show in 1961. To this day, the E-Type OTS is acclaimed as one of the most aesthetically pleasing road going sports cars ever built. Largely carried over from the XK150, the 3.8-liter double overhead cam six-cylinder engine provided outstanding performance, as well as time-tested reliability. With triple S.U. carburetors, it developed 265bhp, however, with less weight, better suspension and aerodynamics, the new e-type was capable of reaching speeds in excess of 150mph.

It gives us great pleasure to introduce this stunning, 1962 Jaguar E-Type Roadster chassis number 876296. This is an early production e-type and it has the desirable flat floor and welded louvers; production date of December 5, 1961. The car is finished in its original color combination: Opalescent Silver Grey over Dark Blue interior. The car retains all of its original sheet metal with the exception of the trunk skin, original is available with the sale, and is precisely finished better than factory standards. The Opalescent Silver Grey paint is outstanding, the engine and engine bay is a piece of Jewelry and takes your breath away when you open bonnet, and the interior is excellent in all areas.
