Vehicle Description

1977 Jeep CJ5 Golden Eagle For Sale in Tucson, Arizona  85751

You are viewing a Southern Arizona 1977 CJ-5 Golden Eagle - Limited Edition. This true American classic is a real Golden Eagle, not a Jeep someone slapped a sticker on.  The condition is like new, since this Jeep was carefully rebuilt.  Don't let the odometer fool you. 95 percent of this Jeep has 15,000 miles or less on it.

The Golden Eagle was only offered from 1977-1983, and in 1977 it was meant to be a Limited Edition model (as you can see on the decals in the "before" photos when I brought it home).  After sales in 1977 were so good AMC kept it around for five more years, but this is one of the first. I purchased this Jeep in 2002 and I am the third owner that I know of. At the time of the purchase it had 133,534 miles on the odometer. It now has 148,623.  Yes, I've only put about 15,000 miles on it in 14 years, and it has always been garage kept and/or covered with me. The exterior was in poor condition when I found it, as it had taken a beating from the Arizona sun, but it was mechanically sound and the body was straight.  It did have a new Best Top and doors. Virtually everything else except the engine has been re-built or replaced. The engine was left alone because while replacing the gaskets you could still see stamp marks in the crank bearings, which indicated minimal wear. It runs strong and burns no oil. These 258 I-6 engines are bullet proof.

Following is a list of upgrades/modifications/restored items:

Routine maintenance performed in-house. This Jeep was re-built to look original with some great upgrades. It is not overloaded with chrome add on's that detract from it's original, bold style. The new hardware used was gold to match the paint and decal scheme, or stainless steel. Unfortunately we have out-grown it as a family, and I can't justify keeping it as a "garage decoration".

This Jeep was built to get away from the world - reliably. It is impeccable and eager to help you find the adventure you seek.  Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to own a rare classic Jeep.  This CJ5 Golden Eagle is priced very competitively so call today for more information on how you can get behind the wheel of this unparalleled Jeep!!!
