Just Toys Classic Cars is proud to present one of the nicest C1 Chevrolet Corvettes that we have had in a long time. Before you is a 1961 Chevrolet Corvette done in beautiful Honduras Maroon with black interior and a black top. Only 1645 Cars got this color that year out of over 10|xxx built. This is when Corvette really started coming in to its own. Gone is the Blue Flame 6 and the slip and slide two speed. The body lines kept getting better| and this is an extremely fine example right here. The Honduras Maroon paint on this car is absolutely miles deep. Stick your arm in it kind of deep. You shine this baby up and it still looks wet. The coves are Ermine White and look as good as everything else. The jams on this car are period correct. They are not over restored. As soon as you see this car| even if you are not a Corvette person| you have to appreciate it and go look at it. This beauty also has both tops. The hard top in 1961 was a 236.75 option. You have to remember that the average person was bringing home about 100 a week at the time. The black top is a Haartz Stayfast material like the new Jag's and Audi's have. There has been nothing but quality put in to this car The interior is just as nice as the outside. The seats are about 2 years old and the foam| and covers came from Al Knoch. These were re done on the original frames and have the correct dip in the bottom cushions. The seat tracks are the originals and were restored as well. You will not find any cracks in the dash pad either. It is only 4 years old and is a Romeo Engineering unit. We could go on and on about everything that has been redone on this interior. Like| the reproduction wonderbar look a like radio that is hooked up to a 650W Kenwood amp with a bazooka Sub in the back. The original wonderbar radio and the 6x9 speaker with transformer come with the car. There are also power windows added to the car| but all of the original crank window pieces come with the car. Now| for the business end of things that really make this Vette come to life. Slide in that interior and hit the key and listen to that 283| dual quad| 270 HP motor come to life. This motor was rebuilt back in 2004 and has had about 5000 miles put on it since so the miles you see on the odometer is what is on the chassis from new. This awesome motor is mounted to a TKO-600 5 speed tranny| and the original T10 4 speed comes with the car and shifted smooth as silk when it came out of the car. The ignition has been upgraded with Pertronix Ignitor III vacuum advance distributor and an MSD Blaster II coil. Again all of the original parts the car was born with come with the sale. With all of this go has to come with some whoa| and that was accomplished by upgrading the front brakes to 1973 Camaro Discs and the original master cylinder is still used in the car.
