Beginning of 1940 the Buick Series 50 got more up-scaled amenities
and his additional designation “Super”.
The Phaeton Cabriolet was delivered with 4 doors as a special
execution additional to the available 2 doors Cabriolet, 2 doors
Coupé and a 4 doors Limousine.
The “Super” had a wheelbase of 3073 (powered by an 8V engine) with
107 hp by 3400 min, with completely new bodywork, without
footboards but in the front finders it had integrated headlights.
The radiator grill had horizontal designed bars as well as a wide
in the center greatly increased form.
This car had a frame-on restauration a few years ago. The inside
vinyl has been replaced and it got his new paint, many chrome/steel
parts has been re-polished, also a new Hartz-Cloth soft top has
been mounted. It has factory radio, heather and original ivory
steering wheel. The white wall wires and the spare wire are new as
well. The bumper jack is the original. A new car top cover is
included.
2015 the engine was fully serviced, wires partly replaced, oil and
brake fluid changed. Undercarriage and under body the gas tank has
been cleaned.
This car start’s, runs and drives smooth, quiet and powerful.
It’s a rare car as it is one of 856 made.
