1956 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Exotic Classics is pleased to present this 1956 Chevrolet Corvette featured in White with Red covers and a Red interior. This is a documented 4-owner car that was sold new in California. The 1956 model C1 is the first year of the facelift design. The car has only 68,775 miles. It has its original 265CI/225HP V8 with dual Carter WCFB carburetors and original 3-speed manual gearbox. The interior is all original and it has the very rare power convertible top option and the one year only auxiliary hardtop. The car has one lacquer re-spray that was done in the 1970s on an undamaged body. The chassis has the original Chevrolet Black paint and A.O. Smith frame stencil with the part number and date still legible. All 5 tires are Firestone non-DOT whitewalls. Options include signal-seeking radio, courtesy lights, and windshield washer. The headlight bulbs are original. The dash, instrument panel, trunk and other places still have the original nitrocellulose lacquer paint. This is a wonderful early Corvette for the discriminating purist.
