For Sale: 1963 Ford Falcon in Concord, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

With its V8 power, beautifully updated factory colors, and a unique vintage appeal, it's hard to beat this 1963 Ford Falcon Sptint.

The Ford Falcon is the car that fathered the Mustang, and now that it has matured into vintage status, you can really see the grown-up appeal on this hardtop. It's especially true when the economy car roots are erased on the top of the line Falcon trim. There's plenty of brightwork, including bombsight fender ornaments, beautiful intricate grille, rocket-inspired taillights, and the Sprint side trim that seems to keep this coupe pointing forward. But you're favorite piece will actually be the wide, straight bumpers simply because they've been re-chromed to a mirror shine. All of this shows exceptionally well on a modern interpretation of the original Heritage Burgundy color. The factory could never get this much gloss on the car... you'll swear it's covered in glass!

A black vinyl bucket seat interior is the perfect way to continue the sporty and premium feeling this Falcon Sprint gives off. The ribbed seat covers look fresh and flank a correct center console with bright lid. Gorgeous door panels recall just a touch of the earlier 1950s with their shiny materials and lots of polished trim. The adapted and upgraded Mustang-style wooden steering wheel is a nice reminder who the daddy of the pony car was. Beyond that is a familiar instrument panel that's in excellent condition. The center-mounted tachometer was part of the factory Sprint package, but the auxiliary readouts are a very nice and necessary upgrade. But the best upgrades are a little more subtle. For example, there were a few four-speed cars in this top-of-the-line trim package, but little have a performance Hurst shifter like this one. Also, the AM/FM stereo looks like a period-correct knob-style unit, but it really is a more modern digital tuner that has an auxiliary input for your most modern music players.

But the best upgrade is saved for under the hood. The engine is the same 260 cubic-inch V8 that found a home in the early Mustangs, and this one has been dressed for show duty. Still, when you look beyond the style of the bright air cleaner, finned valve covers, and tidy hoses, there's the substance of some great performance upgrades. This includes a Holley four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock intake. All of this extra power makes a nice tone out of the dual exhaust. Plus, on the road, the lightweight body and enhanced power moves this coupe in a hurry. It's especially true when you utilize the four-speed manual to its fullest. This sporty attitude is furthered by classic redline tires (that actually hide the grip of more modern rubber,) and everyone love the look of knock-off wheels.

Complete with owner's manual, you can see how this Falcon can easily outshine its Mustang offspring at the car shows. A hardy V8, four-on-the-floor, and dazzling paint... who knew true distinction could be this affordable?! Call today!
