For Sale: 1966 Ford Mustang in Alpharetta, Georgia

Vehicle Description

GORGEOUS, FULLY RESTORED, 1966 FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE, AFFECTIONATELY NAMED "THE WHITE STALLION"....LOADED WITH 347 STROKER V8, 4-SPEED, POWER STEERING, POWER FRONT DISC BRAKES, POWER TOP, DELUXE PONY INTERIOR, RALLY PAC, AND MORE...READY TO SHOW AND GO!!

This White Stallion has a beautiful combination of classic originality, a slightly modified stance, and a drive line that has some great giddy-up and has all the features you would want to make it a pleasure to drive. The gentleman I purchased it from only owned it about 7 months. He bought it right before the winter and expected to own it for many years. Circumstances changed and a new business venture was demanding more capital and time than expected so he and his wife decided their newly acquired toy would have to be sacrificed....disappointing for them but super lucky for the next owner! This is an original C-code V8 car that lived a very pampered life and was eventually restored to the show quality classic it is today. From the amazingly straight original body panels to the rock solid floor pans and frame rails it is obvious this Pony lived a good life. I would estimate that the car was restored about 5 years ago and was done professionally. In addition to a sweet paint job and complete interior restoration, a professionally built 347 Stroker V8 was mated to the original 4-speed transmission for some extra pony power under the hood. I will do my best to provide you with enough large images, a video so you can hear it running, and an honest description so you can decide if this White Stallion belongs in your stable.

As I mentioned this Wimbledon White Stallion has a gorgeous body. Body panels are extremely straight and overall body panel fit is excellent. I do not see any signs of rust repair and believe this '66 still wears all of its original sheet metal. This in and of itself is rare to find. All of the chrome trim, bumpers, and emblems look close to new. The restoration that was done was clearly done by a professional and this car has been pampered and shows very few flaws. I noticed a few very small chips that have been touched up and extremely small hairline cracks in the paint in the seams behind the convertible top which is quite common. I do not think any of these flaws will show in pics and most people would not even notice these minor flaws. Overall the paint and body look fantastic and this '66 will definitely win its share of trophies at the local shows if that is what you enjoy. As you can see from the original door tag this car was actually Nightmist blue originally and received a color change to Wimbledon white. You would never know as there is no sign of the original blue color anywhere that I can see. All of the glass is in great condition and windows roll up and down nicely. Weatherstripping all appears to have been replaced and looks great. I think the photo tour of the body below will show you just how nice this '66 Convertible is.

I hope the next lucky owner will enjoy this White Stallion with the top down as much as possible but it is also nice to know that the top on this Pony convertible is in close to brand new condition and works perfectly. The white on white color combination is really classy and this Pony looks almost as good with the top up as it does with it down in my opinion. The rear window is crystal clear and the top seals up very nicely and latches down with ease. When the top is down there is a brand new boot cover for a very clean look.

Complimenting the beautiful Wimbledon White exterior is an absolutely stunning light blue and parchment Deluxe Pony Interior that looks practically brand spanking new! Everything appears to have been replaced inside this car and from the original trim tag it appears that the interior was professionally upgraded from a standard blue interior to the highly desired Blue and white Luxury Pony interior. This includes the upgraded door panels, courtesy lights in the doors, correct seat covers, Deluxe Woodgrain steering wheel and woodgrain dash bezel and glove box door. Everything from the dash pad to the carpeting looks to be new and looks fantastic. Full length center console looks great and an aftermarket console was added with cup holders and added storage. An awesome Custom auto sound digital retro stereo was neatly mounted in the original radio hole with speakers in the front kick panels. A subwoofer and amp were neatly mounted in the trunk As if this was not enough, there is also Sirius Satellite radio installed in the flip up area of the center console so you can listen to all your favorite music when desired. An awesome Hurst 4-speed shifter with white shifter ball was added for a period correct look. All of the gauges and lights appear to be functioning correctly. The rare and very desirable Rally Pac is mounted on the steering column and the tach is working great and I also believe the clock is working. Seat belts for front and rear passengers and a great set of blue Pony floor mats finish out the interior. The interior would definitely be considered show quality.

At this point hopefully you agree that this '66 Mustang Convertible looks awesome inside and out and now maybe you are wondering if it runs and drives as good as it looks. Absolutely!!!! I hopped in this Mustang the day after it arrived and put about 40 miles on it and it performed great. I was really impressed by how smooth it shifted, how great it sounded, how easily it handled the road and the fact that it had some extra ponies under the hood for some added fun. I was told the 347 Stroker motor was built by ATK Performance Engines out of Texas. In fact the car had ATK valve covers on it when I got it but I decided to go back to a stock chrome valve cover for more originality. When we replaced the valve covers it was obvious that this is a very fresh motor as the valve train is super clean and fresh. Aluminum intake and Edelbrock 4bbl feed the fuel and a great set of ceramic coated headers breathe out back through the dual exhaust with dynomax mufflers for a sweet tone. I would estimate horsepower to be at right about 300hp. She fires right up thanks in part to the MSD ignition. The engine bay is nicely detailed out and to most will look like a stock 289. With plenty of power, this White Stallion is also a factory 4-speed car and has a great period correct Hurst shifter that glides through the gears nicely. Handling is also a breeze thanks to the power steering and for safe and easy braking this Mustang Classic has upgraded Power front disc brakes!! Suspension all appears to have been updated and this Mustang not only handles the road beautifully but does so quietly without any creaks and rattles. Awesome stance thanks to the 17" Rev Polished Aluminum wheels wrapped in a like new set of Nitto Neo Gen Radials 225/45/17 in rear and 215/45/17 up front. There wis also a matching spare in the trunk with jack. MAKE SURE YOU WATCH AND LISTEN TO THE VIDEO THAT FOLLOWS TO HEAR THIS WHITE STALLION START UP AND RUNNING!

The undercarriage is equally as impressive. Fantastic original floor pans with original red oxide primer and original drip marks from the factory. It is possible that the drivers front floor pan may have been replaced but if so it was done top notch. Front frame rails are about as nice as I have seen and rear frame rails the same. This includes the trunk area that is also rock solid and nicely detailed with correct plaid mat. They did add a sub woofer and amp in the trunk but it was done neatly. This Pony has the original Buck tag on the fender, original vin # stamping on the inner fender, and the original door tag.
