For Sale: 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air in Lakeland, Florida

Vehicle Description

Just arrived, beautiful 1963 custom built in George Barris' shop by a 21 year
old protege, Marv Ringheim. Marv had already several customs under his belt,
and asked to work for George and build this car with his guidance and help.
The last owner met George at a show before his passing. He remembered the
car and Marv. Signed a 1996 Georgia restoration and the passenger sunvisor.

This hardtop started its life as a drag car. Some period correct drag suspension
parts are still mounted on the chassis. This explains the very low miles. When the
last owner purchased the car in 2010, it had 3,100 original miles. He has driven it
4,200 miles touring shows in the southeastern USA. Completely rust free.

Own a piece of history and drive it anywhere...

Excellent new dual stage repaint in Burgundy Metallic. Originally painted
Purple after completing, was changed to Burgundy Metallic sometime
before the 1977 magazine feature. Last owner had a show quality
repaint completed in 2011. Still carries the 1963 tuck & roll Naugahyde
Black interior installed when completed. Original chrome and soft trim.

Original dash, vintage tuck and roll panels, carpet & headliner.

This car originally had a 265 V-8 with dual quads. At some point it was upgraded
to a 327/350HP Corvette V-8 and Stromberg six pack carbs. Floor shift automatic
and dual exhaust. Lake pipes were added somewhere between 1977 and 2010.

Wired for radio with speakers, bit none installed. We can add one if wanted.

Newer chrome wheels and vintage look wide whitewall tires.

Featured in January 1963 Car Craft magazine covering custom cars. Selected
as one of the top ten builds of the year and again featured in February 1963.

Featured in the 1963 Hot Rod Custom Car Yearbook - hardback.
Magazine copies and hardback book included with the purchase.
