Vehicle Description
Built by for the 50th Anniversary of Mr. Gasket, Roadster Shop
transformed an ordinary 1966 Chevrolet Suburban into a modernized
show vehicle with throwback surfwagon styling, big block power, and
a killer chassis. Cleaned up classic lines tilt a hat to the past
and show off what top level car builders are capable of creating..
The paint and body work by Charlie Hutton are something that only
seeing the truck in person can express. The truck is the definition
of "straight" bodywork covered in expertly applied base coat and
seriously finessed clearcoat. Nearly every panel on the truck has
been modified by the Roadster Shop to create a totally unique and
custom look.
Exterior modifications include: smoothed and tucked front bumper
custom fabricated grill modified fender/hood openings custom inner
fenders and radiator close out eliminated fender to cowl seams a
smoothed firewall, shaved door handles 1 piece door glass flush
mounted side glass flush mounted windshield and back glass
stretched and reshaped wheel openings reshaped and tucked rear

As soon as you open of the doors of Lime Crush, the level of custom
work is as intoxicating as the smell of rich leather that pours
out. Custom teak floors flow from the back tailgate all the way up
the the fire wall of the truck. Tweed and woven leather accents
compliment the rich caramel leather seats. The design is cohesive
and you get the feeling that Chevy could have almost built an
interior like this back in the 60's.

The engine is a tried and true Chevy ZZ502 crate motor, expertly
adapted to run on the Accel FI system. Without pause is fires up
every time and slides into a nice and burbly, big block idle.
Cooling the system is a Ron Davis aluminum radiator, and the
transmission is a beefy 4l85E overdrive unit. Exhaust flows through
Sanderson headers into a Flowmaster 3" stainless set up which is
tucked cleanly under the chassis.

A Roadster Shop build would not be complete without one of their
signature custom chassis. The Fast Track chassis is a functional
piece of art the transforms Lime Crush from any over the top show
truck into a sharp handling, wonderful riding machine. Beyond the
precision welds and slick constructions put a lot of features on
the table. The independent front suspension uses tubular control
arms, Penske Racing shocks, power rack and pinion steering to
create a tight and precise feel. The rear end is a rock solid for
4-bar that is confident under hard acceleration, and nobody is
going to argue with the Strange 9".
