The 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air is one of the most recognizable and desirable classic cars ever designed. We have all seen these classics shaved, chopped and customized, at times beyond recognition, but even though some of the customized cars are beautiful, in my opinion, no one can beat Chevrolet’s design of beauty, elegance, and simplicity. This Bel Air has been restored with the perfect balance of looks and modern comforts. The body maintains its look of originality.
The interior maintains its originality with a few exceptions such as chrome tilt steering column, custom leather steering wheel and an AM/FM cassette player. Other options include A/C (134A), power steering, power front disc, rear drum brakes, power windows, and even a power antenna. The interior appears to be new from headliner, seats, door panels, carpet, custom floor mats to dash and dash trim.
All glass is tinted and looks new.
All bright work such as stainless, chrome and aluminum trim is very good including emblems. Body gaps are straight and even. Since this is a 2 door sedan instead of a hard top car, the extra rigidity helps doors and windows fit as new which helps eliminate wind noise and rattles. Body panels are very smooth and professional wet sanding and buffing gives the paint a mirror finish. A Camaro sub frame aids in steering and drivability. The Bel Air runs on Corvette rally wheels with 225/70/R15 tires front and rear.
The engine is a 350 CI with electric ignition, aluminum intake and a four barrel carburetor. Engine detailing consists of chrome breather valve covers, alternator, master cylinder and power brake booster. Engine Bay is clean, neat, and detailed. The transmission is a 700R, 4 speed automatic with overdrive which is the right one for cruising highway speeds and for fuel
