1957 Ford Ranchero
Just in and won't be here for long. "More than a car, More than a truck" was the touted slogan for Ford's latest automotive creation in 1957. Based on the Fairlane platform, the Ranchero tapped into an unseen market, those looking for the utility of a truck but the drivability and comfort of a car. The Ranchero was a phenomenal success not only with the automotive buying public but with critics as well.
This example has the classic red/black color scheme with the Fairlane gold trim package. The exterior of this 2-tone Ranchero is done in its original colors and custom "Deluxe" side moldings that give it that iconic 50's vibe. There are very few of these left in the world and this is your chance to own a classic. Without this car, there would be no El Camino's or "Utes" in the world.
It has been upgraded to a rebuilt 302ci V-8 coupled to a C-4 automatic transmission for drivability. It runs and goes perfectly getting attention around every corner. All of the lines and wires have been upgraded or replaced and it starts on the first crank every time.
The body has a few minor flaws but for the most part is in excellent condition.
The interior is near perfect with the exception of the original steering wheel showing patina. I thought about painting that but it is just too cool to touch. The vintage air conditioning will almost blow you out of the truck! An AM/FM Stereo with Smartphone port completes the cruising experience.
