You dont need to look twice to see this Bird coming. Not just a Firebird and not the commonplace TransAm, this Bird is different in many ways. To start, the Firebird Formula 400 has the power and feel of a TransAm with a cleaner, less dramatic look. No chicken on the hood. No flared fenders. I believe the term was “Sleeper”. In contrast, the factory Goldenrod Yellow is beautiful in every respect. This rarely seen color stands out adding to the cars appeal. All chrome & trim are flawless along with the factory Enduro bumper up front. All body lines are incredibly straight.
The history of this car is impressive. Sold new by Kle-Tex Motors in Kingsville TX, there is where it stayed until Jan 2000, when the 2nd and final owner bought the car. At this time, the mileage was documented at just 26xxx. Over the next two years, the 2nd owner did a basic mechanical and cosmetic restoration replacing just what was needed to improve the look and drivability of a 30year old car. All receipts are included in the sale. There were no major issues and no accidents ever. For whatever reason, the car has driven less than 300 miles since.
The engine is a matching numbers 400 with 330hp and as stated, has just 26700miles on the odometer. The engine has the YS block stamping and #13 heads. The interior is completely original and in near mint condition especially for its age. Further evidence of its low mileage history. There are no cracks or tares to the seats or dash pad. All gauges and features work as they should including the radio.
The car was recently repainted in its original GoldenRod Yellow paint by a professional paint shop. It is basically flawless. A second set of 4 tires and rims are included with the car. The second set of Cooper Cobra GT raised letter radial tires (no whitewalls) are nearly brand new. They are a sportier tire and look great on this car. A few photos with these tires are also shown and are currently on the car. Your choice of tires will be on the car upon purchase. The second set is yours as well.
