Classic Cars is pleased to present this handsome and rarely seen
1918 Oakland roadster that has resided with the same Arizona owner
for the last 6 years! Retaining its steel body, this very rare 1918
Oakland roadster was restored and hand-built to its current glory
from the ground up. It won the Jim Wangers Choice Award at the 12th
Annual Nostalgic show and go, and best of all Mr. Wangers, the
architect of Pontiac's legendary 1960s marketing programs,
personally signed the coveted award. The Oakland Motor Car Company
was founded in Pontiac, Michigan in 1907 by a small group of local
businessmen led by Edward P. Murphy, who saw the emerging
automobile as a sensible addition to his Pontiac Buggy Company
carriage-building business. Finished in a version of "Marina" blue
metallic, this all 237steel body roadster shows extremely well with
only minor imperfections visible upon close inspection. All the
trim is present, complete and displays normal wear with a bright
finish. The rear bumper fit is extremely tight and finish is
excellent. The weather-stripping is pliable, with little or no
signs of drying, tearing or shrinkage. The custom 15 inch wheels
represent well with only slight signs of road use. Inside, the
rich(two-tone) blue front bucket seats show extremely well with
little to no signs of wear visible. The inside of the doorand
dashboard are a continuation of the striking blue exterior of the
car and look fantastic. All So-Cal gauges are ergonomically placed,
have correct appearance and function as originally designed. The
tilt column equipped two spoke custom steering wheel is in
excellent condition and functions as designed. Period hotrod
touches include old school LeMans style fuel filler, skull shift
knob, pivoting "Pontiac" tissue dispenser and even a "Pontiac"
Indian head radiator cap! Sounds come from a upgraded JVC AM/FM CD
player with a powerful custom amplifier and hidden speakers. This
no expense spared full custom Oakland is nicely equipped with a
Pontiac 400cid V-8 engine, four barrel Edelbrock carburetor,
4-speed automatic transmission, Polished Summit Racing air filter,

spoke alloys with 255/65s in the front and 315/60s slicks in the
rear! Why get lost in a vast sea of model-A's and highboys?, This
1918 Oakland roadster makes an exceptional hotrod statement. Not
only by being a great no-expense sparred build, but by the rare
number of Oakland roadsters out there!! In addition the builder
showed a great deal of fore-thought by building a car with a roomy
interior...no need for any yoga positions entering or exiting...GET
OUT AND DRIVE! Current mileage on the odometer shows 6,754 miles,
