You are looking at a red on red 1964 Thunderbird Convertible that has been setting in dry storage for more than 15 years. The story that I got with the car form the reputable owner is that his dad had purchased the car in the 90's from the former owner who had purchased it from Carroll Shelby used cars in California in the early 70's. This owner discovered that there was a wrecked 1971 Ford Torino with a 429 Cobra Jet engine in it that was wrecked with less than 20 actual miles on it. The owner drove the car to Georgia on a Thursday and Bill (Awesome Bill from Dawsonville) Elliott's dad installed the engine and trans in the car and the owner drove it out on Monday. The Cobra Jet engine is 100% complete and original from the carb to the fan to the headers and all brackets. The only thing missing is the Cobra Jet air cleaner. I was told that approximately 40000 miles was put on the car after this drive train was installed. I have no documentation at all of any of this just the information from the former owner who knew the previous owner very well. We are trying to get the car started now. The car also comes with a 64 Tbird parts car that does have a rebuilt running original drive train in it. The only rust I have found in this beauty is in the bottom of both rear quarter panels which will be VERY easy to repair.
