1983 AMC JEEP Wagoneer Limited
The 1983 is a full sized JEEP (in later years called the Grand Wagoneer) and is the last year that AMC build these great machines before selling out to Dodge. The Limited was the top of the line with a 360 V8 engine, automatic transition, 4 wheel drive, high / low transfer case, AC, power windows, leather seats and all the bells and whistles. It was considered a luxury SUV, but it is a true work horse and over the past 15 years, he has proven it to me over and over.
Roy has some rust, but it is mostly surface rust and he has just recently been transported to Illinois from New Mexico so his under side is very clean (no salt). He has 150,000 original miles and recently had a tune up and carburetor rebuild so he is running like a champ.
The window motors all work, but the tape that runs the windows up and down on the drivers side are broken. I have the tape but have not installed them. The 4 wheel drive, back tailgate window, seat adjustments, radio, gauges, heat all work. The Air conditioning and cruise control are not working, but he has new custom saddle blanket seat covers on the front seats so he's looking pretty spiffy.
