Completed at the Ferrari factory on June 1, 1973 in its original
color Rosso Dino, this Daytona was shipped to the official East
Coast Ferrari importer Chinetti-Garthwaite in Paoli, Pennsylvania.
It was sold to its first owner and kept for a number of years
during which it was color changed from Rosso Dino to Black. In
January 1985, this Daytona was traded to authorized Ferrari dealer,
Grand Prix SSR, East Setauket, NY with only 4,400 miles. Offered
for resale, it was subsequently purchased by well-known Ferrari
collector, Charles A. “Skeets” & Sharon Dunn, Rancho Santa Fé, CA.
While in Mr. Dunns ownership, it was once again color changed, this
time to Rosso Corsa, but otherwise retained its original interior.
As per Massini records, this Daytona was seen, April 1994 and
mileage at the time was 6,872 miles from new. Also as per Massini
records, it was shown on two occasions, April 30, 1995 & May 18,
1996 at the Skeets & Sharon Dunn Picnic held at Osuna Ranch,
CA/USA. In November 2007, this Daytona was sold by Mr. Dunn to its
most recent owner-collector having covered a mere 8,517 miles from
new.
Since 2007, this Daytona has been serviced regardless of use and
expense by a very well-known Ferrari technician in New Jersey as
well Ferrari specialists Classic Coach, Elizabeth, NJ. It is superb
in every respect with all servicing completely up to date. Upon a
recent road test, the level of service regardless of use is
apparent, this Daytona drives as a well-maintained Daytona should,
extremely tight and full of power. Inspections are welcome, you
will be hard pressed to find a better example.
This Daytona has been Ferrari Classiche certified and today
presents beautifully in each and every aspect: the engine bay and
remainder of car is detailed with true authenticity in mind, the
interior is exceptional and the paint and bodywork are finished to
high standards. It is also complete with all records from new,
books, tools and factory jack.
Currently displaying 11,000 miles from new, this Daytona has
survived in exceptional condition without having the misfortune of
being subjected to extended periods of neglect, modifications or
serious incident. In September 2014, this Daytona received a
Platinum award at FCA concours.
